Williamsport Couple “Deliver” First New Year’s Baby in Tri-County Region

Parents and their newborn baby are bonding following an early morning entrance into the New Year.

Although a few days early from the doctor’s estimated due date of Jan. 4, the arrival of Kadence Elise Kelchner, daughter of Justin and Melanie Schnure Kelchner, of Williamsport was of particular interest as the first baby born in Lycoming County.

Kadence, seven pounds, 10 ounces, arrived at 1:09 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1. Additionally, her birth is notable as being firstborn in the tri-county area of Montour and Union counties.

Kadence joins her siblings Taylor, 9; Nadia, 6; and Giana, 3.

Grandparents are Owen and Sharon Kelchner, of Brookside, and Ed and Geri Schnure, of Hughesville.
