WXPI and Grey Art Gallery to present “A Night of Spoken Word” February 10
WXPI 88.5 Williamsport Community Radio and Grey Art Gallery are pleased to announce that every second Friday of the month will be reserved for "A Night of Spoken Word." The next scheduled “Night of Spoken Word” is this Friday, February 10. The event will once again take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is open to the general public and anyone interested in reading poetry, prose, freestyle verse and dramatic readings.
The Grey Art Gallery is located at 140 West Fourth St., Williamsport in the heart of downtown.
“With the momentum of the past two spoken word events we believe this event needs it's own night reserved on the calendar," said John Yogodzinski of the Grey Art Gallery. "We chose the second Friday of the month in hopes to one day fill the entire month with great recurring events at the gallery."
“A Night of Spoken Word” is open to the public. Those interested in participating should arrive at 6:30 p.m. to sign up so a running order can be established.
WXPI 88.5 went on the air in June of this year. It is the area’s only community radio station and features an eclectic format of music and news.
The Grey Art Gallery has been hosting art openings since July 2011. Their current show is “From Paul Kostabi with Love” featuring work by Paul and Mark Kostabi. Each month the theme, featured artist, and floor plan transforms to accommodate larger than life paintings, sculpture, prints and more.
