Services Tuesday for Retired Faculty Member

Andrew Edward Spuler, who retired in 1989 as an assistant professor and librarian at the former Williamsport Area Community College, Penn College's immediate predecessor institution, died Friday, May 18. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Knight-Confer's, 1914 Memorial Ave., with the Rev. John L. Otto officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. College Finishes 2011-12 With Three Conference Champs, Eight All-Americans

Three Penn State University Athletic Conference champions, along with two seconds, one third and one fourth, and eight All-Americans in archery and wrestling. Those are the standout numbers for Penn College during the 2011-12 seasons.

Penn College Former Archery Coach Honored

Chad Karstetter retired as the Penn College archery coach a year ago, but honors continue to come his way as he recently won the 2012 Graham-Ryder Award for significant and extemporary service to the U.S. Collegiate Archery Association. In 11 seasons under Karstetter, Penn College teams finished second in the nation twice and took one third and one fourth-place finish. more»

Archers Second in Nation; Six Wildcats All-Americans

For the third straight year, the Penn College archery team is No. 2 in the nation. During competition over the weekend (May 18-20) at the U.S. Intercollegiate Archery Championships in Harrisonburg, Va., the Wildcats of first-year coach Brian Parker had two individual champions and four team champions. Student-Athletes Earn Conference ‘All-Academic’ Honors

Penn College, in conjunction with the Penn State University Athletic Conference, has announced the recipients of the Winter/Spring 2012 All-Academic Team award. The award is given to student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or better in the semester of competition. This year, 34 student-athletes made the grade, five more than last year’s class. more»

Memorial Scholarship Established for Students in Health Sciences

A member of the Penn College Foundation Board of Directors and his wife have established a scholarship fund in memory of his late sister. George E. “Herman” Logue Jr. and his wife, Molly, recently presented the college with a gift to establish the Jane E.
