College Picked as Beta-Test Site for Building Automation Software

February 15, 2012

A leading provider of equipment, controls and services for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and security systems has selected Penn College as a beta-testing site for new building automation software. Johnson Controls Inc. donated equipment and software valued at more than $18,000 to be used in four buildings on the Penn College campus. In addition to the building automation software, Johnson Controls included in the donation network control engines, field equipment controllers and input/output modules. The software is being tested in the college’s Madigan Library, with plans to expand the testing to Bardo Gymnasium and two residence halls – York Hall and Lancaster Hall – later this year. “Johnson Controls is proud to be a sponsor to Penn College and its educational programs for the continued benefit and advancement of the students,” said Thomas E. Raney, the company’s Harrisburg branch manager.
